A 6-storey residential house was built for the workers of the USSR People's Commissariat for Finance upon the project of a famous Soviet architect and a founder of the Organisation of Contemporary Architects, Moisei Ginzburg. The constructivist building with an area of 1,600 sq.m is situated on Novinsky boulevard in Moscow.
Starting price of the lot is 101,4 m roubles (USD 1,5 m), says the statement released by Moscow Competitive Policy Department. The bidding will last until the 26th of July, 2016.
Constructivist architecture was a Soviet avant-garde art in 1920s and at the beginning of 1930s. It combined advanced technology and engineering with Communist social purpose. Constructivism has been internationally recognized and is considered by a number of experts to be the foundation of modern architecture.
