The village is known as a popular seaside climatic resort among holidaymakers, where Pioneer health resort is situated. The embankments designed to protect the shore for 400 meters are in an unsatisfactory condition. In particular, the pier has been destroyed while the pebble beach is considerable washed out.
For the purpose of reconstructing the bank protection structures, 235 million rubles ($4 million) were allocated from the federal budget of Russia. The contractor will be determined through a tender announced by the Crimean regional authorities. The winner of the tender will have to erect a new 120-meter stair-stepped wall and seal up the holes in the old wall. It is also necessary to build breakwaters, two of which should be underwater and the other two should be above the water. In addition, the contractor has to build a ladder on the beach and establish a new pebble beach.
