Roscosmos is going to allow private flights into space from Russian territory starting from 2020.
Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin announced it at the ‘Russian innovation technologies and the world market’ forum. He also called on those present not to forget about the efficient promotion and commercialization of space production and services. In particular, speaking at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia at the ‘Russian innovation technologies and the world market’ forum, he assured the assembled company that by 2020 Russia will have formed an efficient system for the support of Russian enterprises on the space services market and will have private companies on that market.
Rogozin said that RF President Vladimir Putin will give an ear to the Roscosmos report on the federal space program project, demarcating all priorities in the sphere. Unlike the USA, where private companies such as SpaceX are actively developing the market for space services, in Russia this market will remain with state enterprises and organizations.
