The Ukrainian Government has raised the gas transit rate to $4.5 per thousand m3 per 100 km (a 1.5-fold rise) for Gazprom
Minister Vladimir Demchishin spoke about this in Kiev. As has been reported already, the Ukranian authorities intend to change the treaty on gas delivery and transportation signed by Premier Yulia Timoshenko and Vladimir Putin. They want to introduce the rule, “transport or pay”.
The minister also announced that Gazprom’s invoice to Naftogas for $2.5 bln for its failure to accept gas is another point of issue for the court in Stockholm, and Ukraine will be waiting for its decision.
