The Mayors of the Russian city of Yalta and the French city of Nice have signed a memorandum on continued cooperation and reinforcement of their friendly partnership.
This is what the Mayor of Yalta, Andrey Rostenko, told RIA Novosti, after having returned to Simferopol from France.
He also said that the delegation from Yalta arrived on French soil by invitation of the Nice Mayor, Christian Estrosi. The invitation was addressed to the head of Yalta’s city administration, located in the Republic of Crimea in the Russian Federation.
The purpose of the visit was realized and the memorandum has been signed. The parties have reached an agreement that the delegation from Nice, headed by the Mayor, will visit Yalta in the second half of May. They have also decided to make preparations to sign an agreement which will strengthen the arrangements as stipulated in the memorandum, stressed the Mayor of Yalta.
To remind you, Nice and Yalta have been twin cities since the 26th of November, 1960.
