The Chinese agro-industrial corporation HengFeng is going to build a powerful grain mill in Volgodonsk.
As Construction.ru was told on Tuesday by the press office of the administration of the Rostov region, the investor has examined the city’s investment platforms and the transportation infrastructure that could be used within the framework of the project.
To start, the Chinese company plans to allocate 1 bln roubles for the project’s realization. The investors expect to come back to Volgodonsk in May in order to continue discussions on this initiative.
Volgodonsk is one of the economic leaders of the Rostov region and is the largest energy center of southern Russia, with a power plant and two thermal power stations on its territory. The city is also a regional transport hub on the Volga–Don Canal and its port is strategically important, providing access to major ports abroad.
