Early on Monday, the warehouse of the research center for radiology and nuclear medicine, located near “Kaluzhskaya” metro station in Moscow, caught fire.
As Construction.RU was told by the press office of the Emergency Ministry of Russia, by the time the five fire teams arrived at the emergency scene, the fire had engulfed an area of 300 m2 and the roofing had fallen in. The warehouse is located at Profsoyuznaya str., 86.
The fireman assured those present that by 10:08am they had managed to localize the fire. In the experts’ opinion, the situation was complicated by the possibility that the warehouse could be storing equipment and instruments containing radioactive substances.
That is why the consequences might be very grave. There is no information on the victims or the wounded at this point.
