A new steel radio and television tower has been assembled in the Russian city of Volgograd. The object’s height is 256 m.
This unique construction has become the highest building in the city, a representative of the Information Technologies Committee of the Volgograd region told Construction.ru.
The painting of the tower will soon begin at the site, as will the installation of antenna-feeder devices to provide for digital TV broadcasting.
The installation of the first 5 kW multiplex digital transmitter has been started. The new object will be put into operation as early as this summer.
Volgograd is an important industrial city and a centre for shipbuilding, oil refining, steel and aluminum production, machinery manufacture and chemical production. It also has a large hydroelectric plant.
