In the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don the investigation has brought a charge against the owner of the “Vant” construction company, Valery Chabanov.
He has been accused of grand embezzlement of over 322m roubles from co-funders of uncompleted high-rise buildings. This is what the press office of the regional police told Construction.RU on Thursday.
The police representative specified that the accused had been detained at the Pattaya resort in Thailand and was deported to the Russian Federation upon the request of Russia’s law enforcement bodies.
At the beginning of April, Chabanov was brought to Rostov-on-Don and placed into a custody. Now he is becoming familiar with the criminal case materials. According to the Russian criminal code, the dishonest director of the construction company might face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
