The government of Russia intends to prompt the demand for domestically manufactured cement by means of its usage in road construction.

This information is contained in a document published on the 11th of May concerning the strategy of development of construction materials production from now to 2020 and its further prospects until 2030.

According to the document, cement and concrete roads are more durable than asphalt and concrete ones, five- or six-fold. The average service life might exceed 50 years.

In addition, to encourage the demand for domestically manufactured construction materials, the government has offered to significantly increase the volume of construction, reconstruction and overhaul involving the use of a wide range of polymer composite materials and products made of them.

Meanwhile, the strategy envisages a complete ban of, or, at least, strong limits on, foreign construction material usage in projects funded by the state.
