The construction of a high-capacity “Trostyanetsky” pig-breeding farm has started in the Ostrogozhsk district, located in the Voronezh region in Russia. The project is estimated at 1 bln roubles.

According to the local media, this is the second project of the German company Tönnies in the Voronezh region. Investors plan to construct a total of 10 pig-breeding farms in the area.

As early as in December 2016, the first batch of pigs will be supplied by the enterprise. The construction project for one more pig-breeding farm, named “Rastykaylovka”, is currently undergoing a governmental expert review. Following this examination, the construction of two more pig-breeding farms will begin in 2017 in the Voronezh region.

Investors intend to launch 10 pig-breeding facilities, with 2,500 animals each and with a general capacity of 65,000 tons of commodity pigs per year, in the region.
