The Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, has furthered the State Duma bill stipulating responsibility for poor repair of roads provoking accidents.
The initiative is designed to reduce the number of road traffic incidents occurring due to the poor quality of roads, says the document published on Friday on the government's website.
In particular, the document envisages upgrading the responsibility of civil servants and legal entities for violations of road traffic security during repair work and road maintenance.
The governments also wishes to revise the administrative responsibility for non-compliance with traffic security requirements during the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of roads.
