As became known on Friday, Moscow and Paris have reached an agreement on the recovery of assets from France that had been purchased by the proceeds of embezzlement in Russia, the RF General Prosecutor’s press office told Construction.ru on the 27th of May.
The agreement was reached at a session of the regular working group of the Russian parliament and the French Justice Ministry on cooperation in the area of criminal proceedings. The session was held from the 24th to the 26th of May.
In the experts’ opinion, this deal paves the way for the return of property, purchased by all sorts of fugitive Russian oligarchs and tycoons of whom there are so many in France, to Russia.
