A large-scale reconstruction project has been launched at the major “Step” airfield in the Zabaikalsky region.
A new runway with a concrete surface, aviation vehicle parking lots, a technical platform for aircraft generation and some other objects are to be erected during the first stage of the project, the press office of the Special Construction Agency of Russia (Spetsstroy) told Construction.ru on Friday.
Roads and drainage and purification facilities have also been built on the airfield’s territory.
Within the framework of the airfield’s reconstruction, a fire station, living quarters for military servants, fencing and a fuel and lubrication materials warehouse are also scheduled to be constructed there.
