At a petrol station in the Belarussian town of Borisov, the police have detained a manager of external economic relations who works for a Chinese company participating in the construction of a large automobile plant in the Borisov region.
The detained man, who is a citizen of Belarus, was caught attempting to receive a bribe of 30 m Belarussian roubles from the commercial company’s director. This money was payment for the fulfillment of concrete supply contracts, the local media reported on Tuesday.
A criminal case on a charge of bribery has been initiated against the top manager, who is currently in custody. His property, including two expensive cars, has been seized. The investigation of the case continues.
