In the near future, the Mars and the Moon landscapes will be built in the large area of the Moscow region to train Russian cosmonauts for space travelling.

This is what the head of the Cosmonauts Training Center, Yury Lonchakov, told reporters on Thursday in Moscow.

According to him, this will be a kind of an on-planet simulator, at which cosmonauts will practice landing upon the planets from the lander and to work there.

At present, “Vykhod-2” simulator is exploited for this purpose. The vehicle creates gravity-free environment and imitates the Martian and the Moon gravitation.

The Yuri A. Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) is responsible for training cosmonauts for their space missions. It contains simulating g-loads, medical observation and other essential infrastructure.
