In the Russian city of Kaliningrad the Jewish Quarter will appear, the press office of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia told Construction.RU, quoting the organization’s president, Alexander Boroda.
According to Mr Boroda, historically, the Jews have always been settling near synagogues, adjacently to which the Jewish educational institutions and kosher stores have been located. Something similar to such arrangement and infrastructure is planned to be built in Kaliningrad.
According to the schedule, the work at the synagogue’s construction site is to be completed by 2017. The synagogue with a capacity of 2,000 people will have a façade similar to that in Koenigsberg synagogue built before the Second World War.
We should remind you that there is a sort of Jews Quarter in Moscow, situated in the Maryina Roscha district.
