Head of the Construction Ministry Mikhail Menn said that the sanctions imposed by Russia upon Turkish building companies might be lifted “within quite a short timeframes”, reports Kommersant newspaper.

Yesterday, Russian Vice Premier in charge of construction Dmitry Kozak noted that the time, when President Vladimir Putin takes a decision on this issue, hasn’t been determined. At the same time, the official suggested that the measure would be taken  over the period of one or two weeks.

In November 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin, when giving an assignment to develop special measures regarding Ankara, didn’t publicly specify, which areas the restrictions would be applied to. As a result, the sanctions against Turkey turned out to be selective and of protectionist nature – ban on tourism, charter flights, agriculture products import. Since the 1st of January 2016, the ban was also extended to the construction industry.
