Oil reserves on the territory of Russia amount to 29 bln tons, whereas the forecast resources are approximately about 49 bln tons.
This is what the Natural Resources Minister of Russia, Sergey Donskoy, announced today on his account in a social network. According to him, the provided data mostly regards the traditional resources.
Technology of oil extraction of the non-traditional resources, such as Bazhenovskaya Svita, are in the developmental stage.
In prospect, with the technologies of the non-traditional hydrocarbons’ extraction being developed, Russian resources of oil are to significantly increase.
As for the so-called “commercially exploitable oil reserves”, their volume on the territory of the Russian Federation amounts to nearly 14 bln tons or 102 bln barrels, indicated Sergey Donskoy.
