On Thursday, on the 7th of July, the construction of a new barrack to deploy Latvian and foreign military servants will start in the Latvian town of Lielvārde, at an airbase of the National Armed Forces, reports LETA citing the Defense Ministry of the country.
According to the Defense Minister of Latvia, Raimonds Bergmanis, the barrack building represents “another step in the development of military infrastructure and improving the security on the Eastern border”.
The barracks area amounts to 3041,4 sq.m. A boiler-house, an electrical supply network and other engineering communications. Over 5 m euro has been spent on the project. The construction works will be executed by Archers company.
