In 2017, the construction of “Gagarin Center” technopolis will start in the Russian city of Samara, governor of the Samara region, Nikolay Merkushkin, told reporters on Monday.
The total amount of investments in the project is estimated at 28 bln roubles.
According to Nikolay Merkushkin, the technopolis will be built near the stadium by World Cup 2018, and for that reason, it is going to have common utility systems with it.
The facility’s final project will be approved by the authorities in two weeks. The highest building of the complex is planned to be a 87-storey skyscraper.
Over 10,500 postgraduates, teachers and researchers from Samara, as well as from other Russian cities and from abroad are expected to live and labour in “Gagarin Center”. They will engage in implementation of the projects in the field of space instrument making and engine-building for space missions to the Moon and Mars.
