IKEA largest furniture factory in Russia starts its operation

Swedish IKEA plans to put into operation Russia’s largest furniture factory near the city of Veliky Novgorod on the 7th of September 2016, the company’s press office told Construction.RU on Monday.




At the same time, IKEA representative indicated that the works at the construction site of the facility and its equipment costed the company 3,9 bln roubles (€50 m).

As soon as the factory starts operating at full capacity by 2018, it will release 7 m units of furniture annually. In particular, this will include frames for “Pax” wardrobe and “Metod” new kitchen system.

Over 450 jobs are expected to be created at the enterprise with an average salary of more than 45,000 roubles. The facility construction started in 2014.
