On Monday morning, operatives of the Federal Security Service of Russia (the FSB) detained Vyacheslav Istomin, who holds a position of Head of Kopeysk, a town in the Chelyabinsk region.
The operation was carried out in the Mayor’s office.
At present, the FSB agents is conducting searches in the offices of high-ranked officials located in the building of the city administration. Simultaneously, their apartments and houses are been searched, Life TV channel reports.
According to the available information, the matter concerns corruption-related crimes. Approximately, at 11:00 local time, Mayor of Kopeysk, Vyacheslav Istomin, handcuffed was escorted from the premises.
As a reference, 49 year old Vyacheslav Istomin was elected Mayor of Kopeysk on the 4th of December 2011.
