Federal Air Transport Agency will reconstruct an airfield complex of “Baikal” airport, located in the capital city of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia.




The project is estimated at 3,9 bln roubles, say the documents published on the public purchases website, Interfax reports.

The funds will be fully allocated from the federal budget. A general contractor will have to carry out construction works without impeding its “normal operation mode”. This year, works’ funding totals 1,62 bln roubles.

According o the data, provided by the Economy Ministry of Buryatia, the second runway with the length of 3,4 km is planned to be built in “Baikal” airport, what will let to accommodate all kinds of aircrafts, including freight carriers.

Apart from that, the 200 hectares port’s Special Economic Zone is to be established in the vicinity of the airport. Approximately 10 bln roubles will be invested in SEZ creation.
