At present, the 137-story Shanghai Tower is the tallest building in China and the world second tallest one. However, it might give its position up to a new project building, which is to be erected in the Luohu District of Shenzhen, shanghaiist.com reports on Friday.
The local authorities of the city of Shenzhen, located in Guangdong Province, China, have launched a project of modernization of the Luohu District, what will include construction of a new high-rise building. The construction will have a height of 739 meters compared with 632 meters of Shanghai Tower.
The new building still will not break a record of 830-meter Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Another tall building, the Jeddah Tower, is under construction in Saudi Arabia.
