The Government of the Irkutsk region will include in the list of the tender conditions for selection of an investor for JSC Irkutsk International Airport the construction of a new air hub outside the city of Irkutsk, regional governor, Sergey Levchenko, told reporters on Wednesday.
“We must have a strong guarantee, that a new airport will be built and this condition is stipulated in the agreement with any entity, both the public and the private one. The (existing) airport must be modernized and operate until the new one is put into operation”, - said Levchenko.
However, this isn’t the only condition laid down by the local authorities. In particular, the tender winner will have to engage in upgrading of 10 small airports located in the region.
