A bomb case without basting charges was found at the site of “Kalininets” stadium reconstruction in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, an assistant commander of troops of the Central Military District, Yaroslav Roschyupkin, told Interfax on Friday.
It was the builder who found the bomb case.
“This is FAG-50 bomb case, that is non-fragmentation bomb, but without explosive device, explosives and practically lost its weight due to strong corrosion”, - noted Roschyupkin.
According to him, the bomb case has lied around for several decades, and it was more likely a production sample produced for tests.
On Friday, the bomb case was brought to Krasny Adui military range located in the Sverdlovsk region and demolished.
The stadium is being reconstructed for World Cup 2018, which events will also be held in Yekaterinburg.
