Lydian Armenia sets about the development of Amulsar gold field located 170km south of the capital city of Yerevan, in Vayots Dzor Province, the company’s press office reports.
The ceremony of starting of the Amulsar gold field development program was attended by high-ranked Armenian officials, including Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Economy Minister Artsvik Minasyan, leaders of local municipalities, governors, as well as the representatives from the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and other institutions.
Lydian International CEO, Howard Stevenson, delivered a speech, saying that the company would do everything possible to demonstrate that mining industry can be responsible, safe and environment-friendly.
“Over the course of the next 12 years we will make it a reality”, he noted.
