The U.S. Treasury Department announced on the 1st of August that it expanded a list of sanctions imposed on Russia over the Ukrainian conflict.




The updated blacklist includes 20 Russian companies and 17 individuals, among which there are also enterprises engaged in building of the Kerch Bridge connecting Russia and Crimea.

SGM-Most, a subsidiary of lead contractor Stroygazmontazh which is already under U.S. sanctions, and sub-contractor Mostotrest (MSTT.MM), one of Russia's biggest bridge builders.

In particular, the sanctions were imposed on SGM-Most, a subsidiary of lead contractor Stroygazmontazh, controlled by Arkady Rotenberg, which is already under U.S. sanctions; a sub-contractor Mostotrest, JSC Giprostroymost Institute; STG-EKO LLC carrying out an ecological expertise, DSK LLC, Federal State Institution Management of Federal Roads “Taman” and other companies.

Commenting this information, the press center of the “Crimean Bridge” told Construction.RU that the bridge builders were ready to such non-amicable measures long time ago and that they will not affect the process of bridge construction.
