The authorities of Dubai announced the launch of a new large project, “The City of Future”, which is estimated at $10 bln, The National reports on Sunday.
The project with an area of four square kilometers includes residential compounds for 35,000 people, as well as 7,200 hotel rooms. As Dubai Holding, the project designer, states, it “will set new international standards in urban planning”.
According to the plan, an advanced infrastructure will be created there, including a multi-modal ecological transportation system, where, among other things, aerial gondolas will be used.
Over half of the area of the “City of the Future” will house parks and other public places. The designers claim that the project’s aim is not just to enhance the life quality, rather is “formation of future generations”.
This project has been developed over the course of two years by 19 different public and private entities, which include internationally known architecture and consulting firms.
