Operatives of the Federal Security Service of Russia (the FSB) are conducting searches in the headquarters of Renova Group, which shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors is Viktor Vekselberg, Russian media reports.
According to Forbes, Viktor Vekselberg’s fortune is estimated at $13.6 bln, what makes him the fourth richest person in Russia, as of August, 2015.
At present, the FSB operatives, with the support of special task forces, are seizing documentation in the office. All exits and entrances are blocked in the building.
The searches might be connected with a bribery criminal case. According to investigators, the bribe in amount of 800 m roubles is supposed to be given to high-ranked officials of the Komi Republic in exchange for benefits in entrepreneurial activity and imposing the most advantageous tariffs for utility services, RBC agency reports.
