Natural gas import from Poland to Ukraine was temporarily halted due to the main pipeline breakage, the spokesman for Ukrtransgaz transportation system operator, Maksim Belyavsky, said on Friday.
“There was a depressurization of a gas pipeline with the diameter of 800 mm in the Lviv Region, gas imports from Poland are temporarily suspended. Repair works are underway,” he told RIA Novosti.
The company’s press office still doesn’t have information on possible date of the repair completion. “Depressurization occurred today at about 6:00 a.m., over the course of the day it will become clear, how much time the repair works will last,” added Belyavsky.
As a reference, Ukraine resumed gas supplies from Poland on the 16th of July. In August, PGNiG, the Polish energy company, started gas supplies for the needs of industrial consumers in Ukraine.
