On Tuesday, Jaguar Land Rover, a British multinational automotive company, launched construction of its plant in the Slovakian city of Nitra.
The official ceremony was attended by Slovakia’s Prime Minister, Robert Fico, and the company’s top managers, Teraz reports.
“The first automobiles are scheduled to be released by our enterprise here in 2018,” director general of Jaguar Land Rover, Ralf Speth, announced at the event. The company plans to invest 1,4 bln euro in its business in Slovakia. The new plant will release 150,000 cars per year, 2,800 jobs will be created there.
According to the agreement concluded between Slovakian government and Jaguar Land Rover, the company will invest 520 million euro more in the enterprise at the second phase of its construction.
