Nearly 3,500 of Crimean Tatars, who returned from places of deportation to Crimea, when it was a part of Ukraine, and squatted plots of land, having erected illegal constructions there, obtained documents for free-of-charge land plots for houses construction.
This is what Prime Minister of the Government of the Crimean Republic, Ruslan Belbek, told RIA Novosti on Thursday. The problem of squatted plots of land emerged in Crimea at the beginning of 2000s, when the Peninsula was a part of Ukraine.
Crimean Tatars, being deprived of possibilities to get a plot of land legally, began to squat it and build constructions, which remain uncompleted. The total area of such construction on the peninsula amounted to 1,400 hectares.
All these buildings are scheduled to be completely demolished in 2015.
