Gazprom, a Russian gas giant, is interested in construction of new or purchasing the existing gas-fired power stations in Turkey, amid thaw in relations between Moscow and Ankara and resumption of Turkish Stream project, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, Alexander Medvedev said in an interview to Reuters.
Gazprom is interested to examine the projects of gas power generation on the Turkish market, the news agency reports on Friday. According to Alexander Medvedev, at present, the prices dropped in Turkey, what causes higher interest to a gas power generation.
Alexander Medvedev added that the company is ready to consider both options: construction of new facilities and acquisition of assets of the existing ones.
