Construction of a section of a unique cableway between the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk and the Chinese city of Heihe was launched in Heilongjiang Province, China.
As the local media reports on Thursday, the project is estimated at 799 million yuan ($119,8 million) of investment.
The length of a cableway above the Amur River amounts to approximately one kilometer, it can be walked through for 20 minutes. For this purpose, 12 groups of gondola-cars with the capacity of 40 persons each will be put into operation there.
The all-season cableway will be capable to transport up to 2,000 passengers per hour.
On the part of China, the works start on Big Heihe Island.
