Russian businessmen to give $100 m for creation of “Babiy Yar” memorial in Kiev

Today, in Kiev, in the framework of mourning ceremony dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the tragedy in Babiy Yar, Kiev, Ukraine, Russian entrepreneurs Mikhail Fridman, Pavel Fuks, German Khan and Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk signed a declaration on intentions.




According to the document, as media report, they want to allot $100m for the construction of the “Babiy Yar” Kholokost Memorial center in the Ukrainian capital. The work on its construction site is to be completed by the 80th anniversary of the tragedy.

The memorial will include a museum with permanent exposition, a research institute and an educational center. To remind you, 200,000 Judes, Gipsies and Russian prisoners of war were killed in the Kiev district of Babiy Yar from September, 1941 to November, 1943 by Hitler invaders and their Ukrainian accomplices.
