At present, Japanese authorities are considering a project of the Trans-Siberian Railway’s extension to the northern island of Hokkaido.
Japanese companies are also examining a program of complex modernization of a railway section between the Russian cities of Kazan and Vladivostok for the purpose to enhance the transportation, the local media reports on Monday.
The project of the Trans-Siberian Railway to Japan will result not just in revival of commodities’ flow between the two countries, but to tourism promotion as well.
Japan is also preparing a program allowing to use this initiative for the purpose to attain a diversification of Russian economy, which depends now on proceeds from selling of resources.
