On the 10th of October, Dubai city authorities announced the start of construction of the world's tallest tower, the Business Insider reports. So, the city will break Japan’s record of 634-metre Tokyo Sky Tree.

The project of Dubai Creek Harbour’s tower is being realized by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding, which is the investment vehicle of the emirate's ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum.
The object is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
Meanwhile, Dubai city authorities specified neither the height of the building, nor the project’s cost. According to the available data, less than 50% of the tower’s total height is useable floor space.
