New ecological standards for Moscow buildings by WWF

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) suggested colleagues from the Moscow Nature Resource and Environmental Protection Department developing new ecological requirements for city buildings together.




Igor Chestin, Director of WWF Russia told the Moscow city news agency, that specialists will together develop a “road map” on water and energy consumption efficiency increase in buildings.

Thus, water used for washing hands and dishes may be recycled for lavatories. Green territories watered by rain may be created on the roofs of the buildings. Solar batteries may be installed on buildings for energy consumption decrease.

Also Chestin spoke about sorting out litter inside buildings, using kitchen waste for making fertilizers for green roofs. Buildings are supposed to be constructed of ecologically friendly materials.
