New President of Russian Architects Union elected

On October 19th at the IX Congress of the Architects’ Union of Russia Nickolay Shumakov, sitting President of the Moscow Architects’ Union, was elected President of the organization.




As Construction.RU was told by the Union’s press office, architect Alexander Victorov was also a candidate for the post.

335 ballots were issued. 241 delegates voted for Nickolay Shumakov. 11 ballot papers were invalid. So, Nickolay Shumakov followed Andrei Bokov, Doctor of Architecture, academician of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, Honoured Architect of Russia, on the post.

To remind you, Nickolai Shumakiv is the Honored Architect of Russia, member of the Moscow Architectural Council, Academician of the International Arts Academy Department, Academician of the Russian Arts Academy, Chief Architect of “Metrogiprotrans”.

He is the author of more than 30 projects of metro stations (Borisovo, Par Pobedy, Vorobievy Gory, Teply Stan, etc.), mono railway, light metro, Zhivopisny (Picturesque) bridge, A terminal of the Vnukovo airport. His interviews were published in Construction.RU.
