Short filling of underground gas storages poses a risk for natural gas transit to the European countries, according to Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom, TASS news agency reports on Tuesday.

“The risk of transit problems is very high this year due to insufficient gas in underground storages because more than 3 bln cubic meters were not injected, even comparing with the last year,” TASS cites Alexander Medvedev as saying in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV Channel.

According to him, there is no need to engage third parties in talks over gas supply to Ukraine. Mr Medvedev claims that the contract price offered to Ukraine is “very attractive” for any other gas buyer.
