Over half of employees believe that working in private offices is more efficient than in open space premises, according to the research carried out by Superjob, a Russian HR website.

“Advocates of open office spaces turned out to be in a minority: no more than 16% respondents prefer open spaces, whereas the system of private offices appeals to 59% of employees. Eighteen per cent of the interviewed said that for them it didn’t matter, how the office space was organized. Seven per cent are undecided,” reads the report.

Male employees more often than female ones spoke in favor of open space – 19% and 13% respectively. At the same time, the older employee is, the more he or she is prone to advocate private offices.

The key point voiced by the opponents of an open space system is weakening of attention.
