Budget of Summer Olympic Games, which are planned to be held in Tokyo in 2020, will be slashed, and as a result, it will total 2 trillion yens, that is $18,2 billion.
This is what Kyodo news agency reports citing the Olympic Games’ organizing committee.
According to Kyodo, the corresponding calculations will be presented at a forthcoming meeting, which is scheduled to be held on the 29th of November in Japanese capital city. The meeting will be attended by high-ranking officials from the International Olympic Committee and the representatives of Tokyo city authorities, as well as the federal Japanese government.
Earlier, it was announced that the budget of 2020 Olympic Games would total 3 trillion yens, that is $29,5 billion. However, that sum was strongly criticized by the International Olympic Committee.
