Rosnano and Fortum plan to set up wind farm in European Russia

Russian Rosnano and Finnish Fortum signed a preliminary agreement on the creation of a consortium engaged in construction of a wind farm in the Ulyanovsk region located in a southeastern part of European Russia.




The agreement was signed by Chairman of Rosnano Board of Directors, Anatoly Chubais, and a vice president of Fortum corporation, the head of Russian division, Alexander Chuvaev. The signing ceremony as also attended by Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Novak, and governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Sergey Morozov.

Alexander Chuvaev noted that Fortum would invest in the project about 65 million euro. He stressed that it would be the first wind farm of such size.

According to Anatoly Chubais, the established consortium will have a mission of expanding wind farms construction throughout the country. The wind farm in the Ulyanovsk region will have a capacity of 35 MW.
