When constructing tunnels of the Third Interchange Circuit of Moscow metro, a so-called “Spanish technology” will be applied at three of its sections, a Deputy Moscow Mayor for urban construction policy, Marat Khusnullin, said on Tuesday.

“Principle of method is about using one ten-meter giant shield instead of two six-meter shields, what reduces a number of operating personnel over the period of work, as well as allows to cut financial spending,” said Mr. Khusnullin.

He added that that method would be applied at the eastern section of the Third Interchange Circuit – from Tekstilshchiki metro station to Klenovy Boulevard station, at the southwestern section – from Davydkovo station to Mozhayskaya station, as well as at the western section – from Mozhayskaya station to Ulitsa Norodnogo Opolcheniya station.
