On Thursday, South Stream Transport and Swiss company Alseas Group signed a contract on the construction of the first string of an offshore section of Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
A signing ceremony took place in Amsterdam, the press office of Gazprom told Construction.RU today. In accordance with the document, in the second half of the year, Alseas Group will embark on building more than 900 kilometers of the first string pipeline under the sea.
For that purpose, the Group will exploit the world’s largest construction vessel Pioneering Spirit, which is designed for the installation of record-weight pipelines.
The agreement also stipulates an option of building the second string of the pipeline.
