The Republic of Belarus made an advance payment to Russia for natural gas, Interfax news agency informed citing the press secretary for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Vladislav Sychevich.
“Belarus is interested in the soonest resolution of the situation. As a first step, the country carried out an advance payment for natural gas”, - said Sychevich.
Vladislav Sychevich did not specify an amount of payment. He noted, that in October 2016 Belarus and Russia reached an agreement in principle and defined concrete mechanisms to address problematic issues in the oil and gas sector. “However, their implementation was delayed,” - he stressed.
