Hong Kong company takes over Baha Mar mega resort in Bahamas

Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, a company headquartered in Hong Kong, has formally taken over the Baha Mar mega resort in the Bahamas, The Global Construction Review reports on Wednesday.




On the 12th of December, the company concluded a deal, according to which it would own and operate the Chinese built and majority funded hotel and casino complex in Nassau.

The company plans to invest $200m to complete and open the resort in April 2017.

Chow Tai Fook Enterprises announced that it would open the resort in phases, beginning with phase one in April 2017, which will include the casino hotel, casino, convention center and golf course.

Over 1,500 jobs are expected to be created there.
