The Academic Board at the Urals Medical University approved a plan for construction of a new complex of buildings and a student campus in the Akademichesky district of the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
According to the local media, the project is being implemented at the expense of both public and private funds.
At present, a medical and performance specification undergoes state expertise in the regional Health Ministry, after what the document will be forwarded to the federal Health Ministry of Russia for harmonization. The project has already been endorsed by Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
The new medical cluster is designed to combine science, universities, hi-tech medicine and innovation production facilities to improve the quality of education of future doctors and to create unique medicine.
